Simon Says “Start With Why”

Simon Sinek is a speaker and author from the UK. He is probably most famous for the idea of “The Golden Circle” and the talk he gave to TED.com a number of years ago can explain this concept very eloquently. Sinek was formerly an ‘adman’ with various agencies around the globe and eventually settled in New Jersey were he now bases himself and runs his business. The video above is the third most popular talk on Ted.com so you may have seen it already. Even if you have, its worth another viewing.

“Why? How? What? – The Worlds Simplest Idea!”

He worked for the ad agency Euro/RSCG in his early career and then moved to Ogilvy & Mather, before being poached back to Euro/RSC. He has written numerous articles and his books ‘Start With Why’ and ‘Leaders Eat Last’ are great reads for anyone looking to find out about being an inspiring leader.
You can check out his website here were he has a popular blog among other things.

Every organisation knows what they do!
Some organisations know how they do it!
Very very few know why they do it. And its not to make a profit – that’s a result.
What is the purpose of the company?

Watch Simon Sinek above and listen to a very interesting talk and how he resolves the “What”, the “How” and the “Why”. Take my word for it, it will be worth the eighteen minutes out of your day to listen to this Ted talk he gave in 2010 and has been seen by nearly 1.8 million people.

Enjoy
