Learn about Facebook’s new ad format — the cinemagraph.
Have you heard of the cinema-graph. It’s something that Instagram and Facebook are discussing now.
It’s neither a photograph nor a movie or video. Its a file format that has been around for many years, since 1987 but is now seeing a new lease of life on social media. It’s known as a GIF or Graphics Interchange Format. You can find out all about them here on Wikipedia.
In short and laymans terms, it’s created by taking a video, uploading the video to an editor, exporting the frames, and then using a program such as Photoshop to create an animated GIF. The file can be used on social media and in blog posts, just like a GIF. (You can also try outCinemagraph Pro to create these types of files.) This is an example of what we are talking about. It is effective and eye-catching too. Imagine how your eye would be caught and attracted to a news-feed on Facebook. Do you think you might incorporate such a feture in your Facebook advertising or do you think it is the latest greatest thing and will be gone as a fad?
